About The Festival
The Pakistan String Puppetry festival is the Pakistani biggest city-wide String Puppetry Festival with more than 300 performances with 30,000 audiences held in the start of the year tentatively January to April in Karachi, Pakistan. Organize by Thespianz Theatre since October 2016. The festival considered as a healing process and endeavors to charm both old and young audiences and raise awareness regarding complex issues among the communities in Karachi, Pakistan, as well as considered as an urge the rejection of extremism and violence.
The First Festival
The first festival began on Wednesday 25 October 2016 with the aim to heal the Karachi city through 300 various string puppetry performances in 79 schools, colleges and universities of Karachi, Pakistan. Three plays Jheel Saiful Malook, Sindbad and one promoting harmony between the four provinces have presented during the festival.
